Attention everybody who's been saying, "Hey, where's my jetpack, future science?"

If you've got a spare $100,000 lying about, it's time to pony up.

Not quite yet. The working model they show doesn't even come close to the jetpack idea of being able to walk around while wearing it and then fly when need be. It's more of a hovercycle. Still neat, mind you, but not a -pack of any sort.

The mockups come closer, but I don't see any examples of that type being in usable state yet.

Still. Want.

Well, strictly speaking, it's not a jetpack. It's a fanpack. Still, cool and all, although I'm not sure that it'll be practical to have two people running along side you all time.

If you can afford this, you can also afford people to run alongside you all the time.

Hey, it's encouraging to know they're getting that much closer!
Still, with my recent dex check fail, I think I'd better stick to more conscious walking. Smacking a tree at high speed would
be, erm, counterproductive.

Yes, that would not be good.

Hope you're feeling better, by the way!

Much so, thanks! And I'm now traveling as walking meditation, because that's more deliberate and gets me to lift my feet - lots less toe catching that way, yay! *wry grin*
