Top 10 things that make you happy right now, and tag five people to do the same. (In no particular order.)
01. My wife, cats, dog, friends, and family.
02. Lost. I haven't raved about it here, because the degree of my craven fanboy capering would make you cringe, but damn, this show is good. (Besides, have you seen a 6'4" man caper? It would haunt your darkest dreams.)
03. The fact that the Lions will be done for the season soon, leaving the Detroit sports scene for the Pistons and the Red Wings.
04. Planet Man!
05. That I finished the first draft of my latest attempt at a novel earlier this year, and will be redrafting and shooting it out to a publisher (and the likely beginning of the ever-beloved Parade of Rejection) by Memorial Day, 2006. (Not quite so tight a schedule as the onedemiurgent has set for himself, I know, but these days his Logos Fu is stronger than mine.)
06. That, speaking of novels, I recently discovered another finished first draft of a novel I wrote in, I think, 1997. I mean, sure, one look-through was enough to convince me that I was right to drive a stake through it and bury it at the crossroads at midnight, but on the other hand, how cool is it to find a novel you wrote and then almost forgot for close to a decade? Particularly one that makes you wonder if aliens were slipping hard drugs into your coffee when you weren't looking?
07. Rambling on about my writing. Seriously - ask me what's going on in my life lately. Chances are I'll spend a paragraph or two on family, friends, pets, recent events, and my recent discovery of a grand unified theory of physics, and then go on for about five or six pages about what I'm writing, what I'm thinking about writing, why I haven't been writing, and how much I'd write if only the stars and planets were to align just so in the coming year. I'm almost certain this is why nobody asks how I'm doing anymore.
08. That my intense sexual magnetism has somehow not yet erased my computer's hard drive.
09. Webcomics -- Narbonic, Gossamer Commons, and Alien Loves Predator most of all.
10. LJ Memes. But you knew that.
